General Operations Worker (Mechanically Inclined, Multi-Tasking)
Location: Oamaru

About the Role: We are looking for an honest, reliable, and fast-learning individual to join our team in a dynamic role. The ideal candidate will have a mechanical mindset, the ability to work across multiple areas, and be comfortable using various machinery. The role involves working in the shop, greenwaste processing, forklift and tractor operation, assessing loads, sorting recycling materials, and operating baling machinery. Key Responsibilities:
- Greenwaste Processing: Process incoming greenwaste loads, ensuring proper sorting and processing.
- Forklift and Tractor Operation: Safely operate forklifts and tractors to move materials, load/unload products, and assist in various tasks.
- Recycling Sorting: Sort recyclable materials by type, ensuring compliance with recycling guidelines.
- Baling of Materials: Operate baling machinery to compress and package recyclables.
- Multi-Tasking: Be flexible and willing to work in different areas as needed, ensuring efficient operations and team support.
Key Requirements:
- Mechanically minded with the ability to operate machinery.
- Ability to quickly learn new processes and adapt to changing environments.
- Reliable, honest, and a strong team player.
- Must have a current clean full class 1 driver’s licence.
- Forklift licence would be an advantage. Licence must have OSH as well as F endorsement.
- Experience in forklift and tractor operation is an advantage, but training can be provided.
- Ability to work in diverse outdoor and indoor environments.
- Previous experience in waste management, recycling, or similar industries is a plus.
- Physically fit and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
