About WRRP

WRRP provides recycling, repurposing and waste disposal services to the community of Oamaru and the district.

The Waitaki Resource Recovery Park (WRRP) is a community-owned enterprise run by the Waitaki Resource Recovery Trust.

The Waitaki Resource Recovery Trust is primarily self-funded with supportive funding from the Waitaki District Council.

WRRP was established in 2003 to divert recyclable and reusable materials from the landfill by giving the community ownership of our resource streams. Over recent years, an average of 85% of all material entering our park was diverted from landfill. All remaining materials that can not be reused or recycled are disposed of at the Oamaru Refuse Transfer Station.

We accept a full range of recycling and resale items as well as green waste. Resaleable items are available for purchase in the Get Sorted Shop. The green waste collected is converted to Environmental Enhancer Mulch which is for sale at the Park.

We look forward to welcoming you to the Park and thank you for your support!
