The Waitaki Resource Recovery Park is a Community owned enterprise run by the Waitaki Resource Recovery Trust established in 2003 with the intention to ‘optimise the amount of material diverted from landfill to beneficial uses through Community ownership of our resource streams’.
We accept a full range of recyclable and resaleable items which are available for purchase in our ‘Get Sorted’ shop.
Materials which are unable to be reused or recycled are accepted at the Park and disposed of at the Oamaru Landfill.
We also accept domestic greenwaste which is converted to mulch and available for purchase at the Park.
The Waitaki Resource Recovery Trust is primarily self-funded with supportive funding from the Waitaki District Council.
In 2011 we diverted 2500 tonnes of material from landfill.
